Chicago and Northwest Indiana School Projects Use Online Fundraising Sites for Support by Renae Brantley

Several Chicago and Northwest Indiana school projects are using some of the latest in internet fundraising strategies to win donor support for their projects. The website, DonorsChoose, allows schools to set up individual webpages describing their particular school or classroom project, and solicit funds through the website for those projects. Project sponsors can be as creative as they want in describing their ideas to attract donations. This is a great way for family and friends from all around the country, or the world, to support a project that their favorite student, i.e. niece, nephew, grandchild, etc., is involved in.

School names are included with each project, so perhaps some alumni are out there reading this and can lend your support to the efforts of these aspiring young people and their teachers. In the meantime, check out these projects and see if one or all of them might be something YOU want to invest in! Let the Giving Greater Chicago family know what you think of these projects. Or, let us know if you have a project that our readers should know about! Post your comment, or send us an email at: givingchicago@gmail.com.
